A Small Sample of our Projects - Friends of Woodlands Historic Park

Current Revegetaion Project by Friend of Woodlands Historic Park

This photo was taken from the south side of "twin dams paddock", the newest part of the park, looking north across Somerton Road. The young trees in the background were planted in 2016 and 2017, while the tree guards in the foreground are a small portion of our 2018 planting. Materials have been purchased with a grant from the Victorian Goverment's "Biodiversity On-ground Action" program.

Recent Revegetaion Project by Friend of Woodlands Historic Park

This site in the southwest of the park was planted in 2013 and 2014, with funding from Jemena via Landcare Australia. Photo taken Sep. 2014. As well as members of Friends of Woodlands Historic Park, many other people worked on the project - Jemena staff, Parks Victoria staff, members of Friends of Moonee Ponds Creek and a team from Conservation Volunteers Australia.

Plantings are in two fenced plots with a total area of about 1/3 ha, partially in Woodlands Historic Park and partially on Melbourne Airport land. Moonee Ponds Creek crosses the photo just behind the smaller plot.

The project complements revegetation done by Friends of Woodlands Historic Park on the opposite side of the creek in earlier years.
